Emily Spencer is the Executive Director of Heartillery Group—the nationally recognized non-profit organization she founded in 2012 to provide cards and care items to active duty soldiers overseas. Working to better the lives and circumstances of members of the military community has been the hallmark of Emily’s career. For more than a decade she has been a committed advocate for soldiers, veterans, and their families through her work with Heartillery Group, Fisher House Boston, and as a Family Readiness Group Leader for the Brockton, MA-based U.S. Army 1173rd Battalion. She has built community-based strategic partnerships in order to enhance fundraising efforts, created effective mission-specific marketing campaigns, and developed sound financial planning strategies for soldiers—many of whom are on active duty. Building trust and fostering relationships is the cornerstone of Emily’s career. A native of Boston, Emily earned a Masters degree in Operations Management from Harvard University.
